Gardening at Great-Grandma's

This past Thursday Sophia and I went over to my grandparents house to visit. While at grandma's house it is normal for us to come across our pictures, here are a few...

In this photo is (left to right) my brother, Noah, my cousins Sera & Shelbie-Lynn, and Me, oh man I was about 15 maaaaaybe 16 in this photo. We were at dinner for Sera's birthday at Brick Oven Pizza in Kalaheo.

In this photo (left to right): My cousins (sisters) Deanna and Chelsea, baby ME!, and my cousins, Sera and Seneca. Look how tiny we were guys!!!! I was about 1 1/2 maybe 2 in this photo, it was a t the airport before I moved to Washington!

 

After looking at pictures Grandma took us out to her garden. She has a BEAUTIFUL garden, a BEAUTIFUL backyard, in fact she has my DREAM HOME!!!

Here are a couple pictures of her backyard (some of it):

 

She has it set up for a little social place, we are upcycling that bench and hidden in the rocks there is a fire pit :) so cute and so cozy!

 

We took a drive down into more of her yard and went to pick Gardenias and some pots for my plants.

here is Sophia picking a "faler" (she has a hard time saying "FLOWER" lol)

 

 

She really has no shame, running around without a shirt.... but you can do that in Hawaii ;)

 

 

 

Here she is smelling it and telling her "aunty 'Rea" it smells good!

 

We rode down on a golf cart so we stuck the littlest body in the tiny crate connected to the back ;) She enjoyed it so much!

After being out in the garden, grandma sent me home with some (more) plants of my own to start growing at my home :)

Here Sophia is helping me clean the pots that were HANDMADE by MY great grandma! I love to get Sophia involved and let her experience life HANDS ON!

Aaaaaaand, Lights out for Sophia and "Aunty 'Rea"! Long day out at grandma's and so much to do, so much space to run and play! We definitely had a lot of fun and I hope to be able to go out there more often!

My Magically Moist Meaballs

So tonight I made these incredibly delicious meatballs.

 

 I totally winged it and it came out AMAAAAAZING! My grandmother taught me how to make her famous Sweet and Sour Meatballs when I was 18. Tonight I was playing around with the recipe and sorry grams, but I'm gonna be making it my way from now on. LOL. It was so delicious that I even ate it plain, without sweet and sour sauce. Now unfortunately my grandma never taught me how to measure things she always said "just eye ball it, you'll know." So I've been "eye-balling" it forever now (haha).

If your set-up looks like this- you're on the right track ;)

So I will simply try my best to keep measurements on the lower side, if you try it and it looks a little off you can always add more ;)

 

My Magically Moist Meatballs:

1.5 lbs. Ground beef

1 Egg

1/4 c Breadcrumbs- I like to soak some croutons in milk, it has more flavor

1/4 c. Ketchup

2 tsp. Worstershire Sauce

Green onions

Parsley

Salt

Pepper

 

 

-So first I added a pinch of salt and pepper to season the meat. I then added the ketchup and worstershire sauce. breadcrumbs, and the egg.

 

-I used the best kitchen utensil to mix it-- MY HANDS! (Beware, it can get pretty cold and uncomfortable!)

 

-I chopped up the green onions and parsley pretty small, almost diced, and mixed them in.

 

-I heated the pan with some oil and rolled them into tiny little meatballs- they were bite sized for Sophia and I.

 

-I kept the pan heated at a medium heat so they could cook without burning. As they were cooking I covered the pan to seal in the heat and cook them faster, (I found that this is what made the meatballs so soft and moist! It was amazing!) And cooked them until they were brown (or a little black, my fave). 

 



 

I picked at the finished ones and realized I really didn't need to put any sauce on them BUT if you are wanting to try the Sweet and Sour Sauce the recipe is below:

again, I always eyeball and add more to taste, but I'll try my best

 

Sweet and Sour Sauce:

1 c. Brown Sugar

2 c. Ketchup

2 tsp. Worstershire Sauce

a few squirts of mustard

a few drizzles of honey

 

I totally didn't know how much mustard and honey to add, just add to taste.

 

Throw all these crazy ingredients into a small pot on medium heat and stir.

 

If it is too sweet: add more ketchup and worstershire sauce

 

If it is too sour or tart: add more sugar and honey

I Promise to Never Leave You Again!

We've been gone to long....

     I am extremely sorry for the absence! Life has just gotten the best of me! I decided to just wait till finals were over and I had my life together before I started writing. I didn't want to create half done blog posts, that's not fair to ya'll!

     Today I have finally finished the last of my organizing! It calls for a huge celebration! I've been trying to get organized for what? 3 weeks? HAH! (here is where I got my printouts for my organizing) 

So this is what Sophia and I did to celebrate...

     I did some work while we both enjoyed the sun and each other's company :) I am really just so blessed to having this amazing career that allows me to stay at home with her and enjoy these sunny, summer days!

What you've missed...

Some major things that have happened while we were out...

- I completed my first year of school!

-Sophia is officially completely potty trained, no more diapers!

-My other half got an amazing promotion at work

-We've gotten the O.K from our Loan Officer to start getting pre-approved for a home loan!

 

What you have to look forward to...

     So while I was organizing I had some really amazing ideas for the future of Green Clean Healthy Homes. As most of you know I own an Etsy shop (check it out here), I haven't been posting much or taking orders lately. I am still not taking orders until I have completely FILLED my shop. I am working on a bunch of new items and building my inventory of it all. I will definitely make a post SPECIAL for my "Grand Opening"

     Another thing you can look forward to here is Product knowledge! As most of you know I am teamed up with a health and wellness company. So I will be going into full detail of ONE product each day. I have a contact form on the bottom of this page that you can use to get in touch with me if you have questions or want information on a certain product or how you can join me and get these awesome products.

Out for a while SORRY

Sorry I've been out for a while! We had a lot going on, first was Sophia's Birthday Party (I'll post more about that in a bit) and then Sophia and I were sick for a couple weeks and Easter and the business, it was just never ending! Haha! I finally caught a moment to breathe and decided to write a short little post to keep you all updated.

 

My at home business started booming! I think with everyone spring cleaning they realized how important it is to keep their cleaners CLEAN as well *wink wink*
I am still currently trying to get my life organized... I've been saying that for a over a year, ya'll probably think I am some crazy lady with a messed up life... TRUE! Lol! But really, I just make my life a little more difficult than it needs to be ;)

I am so Excited to be back and to get more people on board of my blog and to be reaching so many families in so many countries. I am truly blessed to have this experience and be able to talk to so many different people!

Who said GREEN can't CLEAN?!

Hellooooo, Queen of Procrastination here! Giving you your daily dose of some random project I did when I was SUPPOSED to be doing something else way more important!

This morning sitting down studying for my anthropology exam I remembered "hey Sophia spilled my coffee in the living room about a month ago... did I ever take out that stain?" (Yes, these are the kinds of thing I think about when I'm actually supposed to be studying! lol) So I went on my merry way to the living room and O.M.G! I see the stains! Yaaay! Something for me to do besides study! Lol!

So here we have the ugly coffee stain on the BEAUTIFUL blue carpet ;)

it may be a little hard to see in the pic but trust me it was noticeable in person! haha!

I sprayed my trusty Sol-U-Mel, let it sit for a few seconds, wiped it up and voila! STAIN BE GONE! Haha! I am a very dramatic person if ya can't tell! ;)

No more stain! :)

 

Now who said GREEN can't CLEAN?! I know I did at one point. I would have been pretty skeptical if I hadn't already known how amazing this company was. I just love that we get a better non toxic environment and I don't have to break my back to scrub anything. This stuff works man!

I honestly just can't believe people don't know more about it.. but then again that's why I'm here!! :) Lol!
